The Mizzou basketball schedule for the 2012-2013 season was announced on Wednesday.

Frank Haith's squad begins the season with an exhibition game against Northwest Missouri State on October 29. The Tigers meet up with Southern Illinois Edwardsville in the regular season opener on Saturday, November 10 in Columbia.

Missouri will hit the road for the first time during Thanksgiving with a trip to the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas. The Tigers will play three games in as many days at this tournament. They play Stanford on Thanksgiving day and will face either Louisville or Northern Iowa the next day. Duke, Memphis, Minnesota and VCU are the other teams in the tournament.

The other non-conference highlights are contests with Illinois and UCLA. Missouri plays Illinois in the annual Braggin' Rights Game in St. Louis on December 22. The Tigers have topped the Fighting Illini the last three years. The Tigers play out west six days later against UCLA in Mizzou's only true away tilt on the non-conference slate.

The conference schedule begins with a game against Alabama on January 8 at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou plays Ole Miss, Florida, South Carolina, LSU and Arkansas twice. The game against Arkansas in Columbia will be highly anticipated because it will be the return of former Mizzou coach Mike Anderson. The current Razorbacks coach left the Tigers in the spring 2011 and will come back to Mizzou Arena on March 5. Expect a mostly negative or mixed reaction when Anderson is introduced.

Missouri plays Kentucky once this season, in Lexington on February 23. The game starts at 8 PM central time and ESPN will be at Rupp Arena for College GameDay.

The Tigers close the regular season with a trip to Tennessee on March 9.
