The mother of a former Ohio State football star took to Twitter over the weekend to criticize Urban Meyer for his comments on the investigation into his handling of domestic violence allegations against now-fired assistant coach Zach Smith.

Annie Apple, the mother of former first-round pick Eli Apple, unloaded on Meyer on Twitter.

"12 hours, Urban had to come with compassion for a woman who was terrorized, abused. 9 yrs since he knew of her abuser’s first arrest of domestic violence, did nothing & continued to enable him. Two days, it took him to come up with this self-serving “apology” after public outcry," she wrote.

"That’s other heartbreaking part. Urban & Shelly sat by for weeks while these vile fans ripped Courtney. Shelly text Urban about Zach “rage issues” but did nothing to defend Courtney to the public. Urban didn’t listen to his heart or his head. Urban was looking out for his wallet."

Apple, unsurprisingly, has gotten a decent amount of flak from Ohio State fans.

She issued a response:

OK then.
