Patrick Beverley is known to be one of the toughest players in the NBA, both mentally and physically. However, his emotions truly got the best of him last night.
During the Los Angeles Clippers’ game against the Dallas Mavericks, one heckling fan sitting courtside kept yelling in the direction of Beverley. The veteran guard claims he told security about this fanatic but they didn’t intervene.
Well, Beverley reached his breaking point in the fourth quarter, as he decided to throw the basketball in the heckler’s direction.
Here is the video:

Beverley spoke with the media after the game, revealing the reason for his actions.
"He said F your mother again. I don't know what you want me to do. What would you guys do?" – Patrick Beverley on his first career ejection after throwing the ball at a fan.

If this fan did truly make egregious remarks about Beverley and his family, then the Mavericks should consider possible punishments toward the heckler. After all, a similar incident occurred in Dallas with Kevin Durant.
As for the players, they should try to refrain from taking matters into their own hands, even when the opposing fans are being disrespectful. Maybe the NBA will have to look into stricter security policies for each arena.
