One of Nebraska's quarterbacks was not at practice today. His absence is apparently a mysterious one.

Huskers quarterback Patrick O'Brien was not at practice this morning. When asked about his absence, Nebraska's coaches are not saying why. The media has been told to find out on its own, apparently.

"Nebraska QB coach Mario Verduzco says QB Patrick O'Brien wasn't at practice today. Says media members will have to figure out why," tweets Evan Bland of the Omaha World-Herald.

Another Huskers coach, offensive coordinator Troy Walters, also refused to answer any questions about O'Brien.

O'Brien, a rising sophomore, is a former four-star recruit. He's believed to be in contention to land the starting quarterback job.

The 6-foot-4 California native played a little bit in 2017. He completed 18 of 30 passes for 192 yards and 1 touchdown.

O'Brien had reportedly not been getting a ton of reps at practice.

Clarity on the O'Brien situation could come soon. Stay tuned for more updates regarding Nebraska's quarterback situation.
