The first week of the NFL regular season wasn’t very kind to the Chargers, as they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs at home. If losing their home opener wasn’t bad enough, it appears more troubling news is on the way.
While Los Angeles showed encouraging flashes on offense, Anthony Lynn’s defense was nonexistent. Of course, the absence of Joey Bosa truly hurt their ability to generate any pass rush.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the former Buckeye needs additional time to recover from his foot injury.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Bosa is not expected to play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and could miss even more time.
Chargers’ DE Joey Bosa, who visited with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson today, has a bone bruise and is not expected to play Sunday vs Buffalo and eve possibly longer, per source.

Bosa is undoubtedly one of the best defensive ends in football. In just his first two seasons in the NFL, the former first-round pick already has 23 sacks.
Even though losing Bosa for another game isn’t ideal, the Chargers have the benefit of facing Josh Allen in his first career start.
Nonetheless, Los Angeles will need the dynamic pass rusher on the field eventually, especially if they have aspirations of winning the AFC West.
In the meanwhile, look for Melvin Ingram to lead the Chargers’ defense.
