The Indianapolis Colts are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, winning five consecutive games to bring them to 6-5 on the season. However, the severity of Jack Doyle's injury could negatively affect an offense that is cruising lately.

It's hard to find another team that utilizes tight ends more than Indianapolis. Whether it's Doyle or Eric Ebron, Andrew Luck constantly uses them in the red zone.

Unfortunately, the superstar quarterback will have one less option for the remainder of the season. During the Colts' victory over the Dolphins yesterday, Doyle suffered a season-ending kidney injury, per Stephen Holder.

Doyle had four receptions in his previous performance, which included one for a touchdown. In his absence, the Colts can rely on Ebron, who is easily having the best year of his career. As for the long-term severity of this injury, it sounds like Doyle will resume playing following this season.

We wish him well in his recovery.
