Things are not looking too good for New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. as the season winds down. After missing last week’s win over the Washington Redskins due to a quad injury, Beckham could be on the verge of missing even more time.
According to ESPN, Beckham could not practice on Thursday due to the injury and went “off-site” to a hospital for further evaluation.
Beckham was asked if he thought he might be able to play against the Tennessee Titans this weekend, to which he responded that he wasn’t sure.
“I honestly don’t know until Sunday gets here,” Beckham said. “It has just been getting better each and every day.”
Giants coach Pat Shurmur, on the other hand, was a little more optimistic. Shurmur claimed that having Beckham’s injury evaluated off-site didn’t “mean anything.”
“We’re just getting it checked out,” Shurmur said earlier Thursday. “Doesn’t mean anything.”
Beckham is the Giants’ leading receiver in almost every major category. He leads the team in receiving TDs, receiving yards, and receptions per game. Only RB Saquon Barkley edges him out in total catches with 78 to Beckham’s 77.
