The Los Angeles Rams are facing the real possibility that their star running back might not be able to suit up for this weekend's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Star running back Todd Gurley has been battling inflammation in his knee.

Gurley missed his second practice this week as he deals with the inflammation in the knee that forced him to miss time against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Gurley was not on the field during the media portion of Thursday's practice, though he may still get the chance for limited reps.

Earlier in the week, Rams head coach Sean McVay suggested Gurley will be ready to go this weekend. However, back-to-back missed practices doesn't bode well for the star running back.

The team also added veteran running back C.J. Anderson to the team this week to prepare for a potential Todd Gurley absence.

While this might just be a rest period for Gurley, it's worth monitoring his progress over the weekend.

UPDATE: According to Pro Football Talk, Gurley has yet to run in practice this week.

"That’s a tough question. I haven’t tried to run. So, yeah, that’s a tough question," Gurley said on Thursday.

That's not a great look if he's hoping to play this weekend.
