The Green Bay Packers opened the 2018 NFL season with Super Bowl aspirations that evaporated quickly. Head coach Mike McCarthy was fired after the team's upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals at home - a loss that eliminated the team from playoff contention.

After a string of losses, the Packers were reportedly considering sitting star quarterback Aaron Rodgers in order to keep him healthy for next season. Rodgers has his own opinion on the matter.

According to ESPN's Green Bay Packers reporter Rob Demovsky, Aaron Rodgers said he's playing this weekend.

There's no quit in Rodgers.

It's great news for Packers fans that want to see their team perform at the highest level to round out the season. It's not great news for the New York Jets, who were hoping to get an easier opponent on Sunday afternoon.

Green Bay and New York kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX from MetLife Stadium.
