LeBron James is obviously going to be the top story of the NBA's summer. The Cleveland Cavaliers' star is expected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent. Everyone's already speculating about what he's going to do.
Kawhi Leonard might be story 1B, though. The All-NBA forward's situation with the San Antonio Spurs has been weird for a while. Will we get some type of resolution this summer?
It's sounding better.
The Spurs are reportedly planning on offering Leonard a max extension. Leonard, according to a new report, plans on signing it.
Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders provided the latest update.
"I had dinner with someone close to Kawhi last week - word is he is completely fine with the situation, expects to sit with the Spurs and hammer out an extension. There are clearly things to talk about, but his side isn't looking for the door," he reports.
That's great news for San Antonio. For a while this season, it was sounding like Kawhi would not be back for the 2018-19 season.
Maybe LeBron James can join him...
