Odell Beckham has done a lot of talking so far this season. It's understandable, considering his New York Giants are off to a disastrous 1-5 start to the 2018 NFL regular season.
The Giants' star wide receiver called out the rest of his team in an interview with ESPN's Josina Anderson. He also said he wasn't sure if Eli Manning was a problem.
"I don't know," Beckham said about Manning being an issue. "Like I said, I feel like he's not going to get out the pocket. He's not -- we know Eli's not running it. But is it a matter of time issue? Can he still throw it, yeah, but it's been pretty safe and it's been, you know ... cool catching shallow [routes] and trying to take it to the house. But I'm, you know, I want to go over the top of somebody."
He was later fined for those comments. He apologized to his teammates for previous comments, too.
The Giants' owner doesn't appear to be happy with all of the talking.
John Mara called out Beckham while speaking to reporters this morning.
"I think he needs to do a little more playing and a little less talking," he said.
Odell probably isn't going to stop talking, but he's one of the few players on the Giants who is consistently playing at a high level. If anyone on that team deserves to talk, it's him.
