It's time to get nervous, Oklahoma football fans. Your team's quarterback, Kyler Murray, has an incredibly tough (or, unfortunately for you, perhaps easy) decision to make.
The star quarterback has been taken in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He was taken No. 9 overall by the Oakland Athletics.
Murray was projected by some to be a potential first-round pick. The fact that he's going No. 9 overall speaks to how confident Oakland is in being able to sign him.
The franchise is reportedly "optimistic about their chances of signing Murray. Huge talent. Big get, if it gets done."
Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley had previously said that Murray would not be playing baseball this summer. He was confident that he'd have the quarterback behind center in 2018.
Murray, clearly, now has a decision to make. He'll have a sizable, seven-figure bonus on the table. Passing on that will be extremely difficult.
It's certainly going to be a fascinating decision to watch. Stay tuned.
