March Madness has a lot of fun traditions. One of them: an ESPN Around The Horn panelist picks a ridiculous upset.
ESPN senior writer/TV person/sometimes annoying guest host on The Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz has picked a No. 16 seed to upset a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament every year for the past five years.
He’s done it again.
Torre is going with the team he’s deemed the “strongest” No. 16 seed of all-time. He’s picking Penn to upset Kansas.
The Ivy League champions are the No. 16 seed in the Midwest Region. They’re set to take on the No. 1-seeded Jayhawks.
The spread for the game isn’t that ridiculous. Kansas is a 14-point favorite right now.
OddsShark’s computer is predicting a 10-point victory.
Penn went 24-8 in the regular season, 12-2 in the Ivy League. They’re led by sophomore guard Ryan Betley, who averages 14.5 points a game.
Tipoff for Penn and Kansas is set for 2 p.m. E.T. on Thursday. It’ll be televised on TBS.
