Paige Spiranac Reveals She Suffers From Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks

Paige Spiranac is both an aspiring professional golfer and an accomplished Instagram model. The former San Diego State star has amassed 1.4 million followers on Instagram alone - and this past winter, she was part of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue. But Spiranac revealed on Tuesday that she isn't always as happy as she seems.

Spiranac revealed in an emotional post that she suffers from both social anxiety and panic attacks. She says that she tries to be positive on a daily basis - but that it isn't always easy:

"I love social media and there’s so much good that comes from it. I’m able to connect with you all and share my life. However it’s just the highlights. I may look really happy here but today I cried because of my anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety. I’ve struggled my whole life with feeling anxious and having panic attacks. I’m actually really introverted, I have social anxiety, I’m sensitive, and a perfectionist.

Not a great mix at times haha and impacts my life daily. I try to always be positive and happy but it’s hard. Remember we all have our battles we are fighting everyday. Not everything is what it appears to be! But I never give up on myself and always try to be better and make decisions that make me happy. So here’s to loving our flaws and being real! #selflove#forallmyanxiouspepsouthere#happy#smile"

Earlier this year, Spiranac was involved in a back-and-forth with Britt McHenry over her decision to do the SI shoot. You can read more about that here.

Spiranac's post is another reminder that no matter how well people seem like they're doing, you never know what they're dealing with internally. Hopefully her post is a bit therapeutic.
