Josh Gordon will be making his debut for the New England Patriots this afternoon. The team has announced his status for this afternoon's contest. He's active.
"WR Josh Gordon is active. He makes his debut," Ian Rapoport tweeted.
Here's the full list of inactive players from the Patriots. Gordon is not on the list:
The Patriots traded for Gordon, acquiring him in a trade with the Browns.
New England has lacked big-play ability from its wide receivers so far this season. The Patriots are hoping Gordon can bring that to their offense.
“I mean, obviously I want to let him speak for himself, but honestly, he definitely can help us,” Phillip Dorsett told Patriots Wire on Friday. “He’s a great football player. We all know that. I mean, from what you’ve seen from him on the field, he’s definitely been productive. We all know he’s a great football player, and I believe definitely he can help us.”
“He’s bigger than the guys on every roster,” Dorsett said. “Once we see him on the field more, I feel like his presence will definitely help us. … We know what he can do. I think he’s a great player.”
It's unclear just how much Gordon will play today, but knowing the Patriots, he'll make a big impact in his first game.
The Patriots and the Dolphins are set to kick off at 1 p.m. E.T. on CBS.
