Paul George Free Agency: ESPN To Produce Documentary On His Offseason
If LeBron James' decision is the most anticipated one in NBA free agency this offseason, Paul George isn't far behind. In fact, the 28-year-old forward could be a key factor in where LeBron chooses to play.
George, who played last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, is expected to be pursued heavily by the Los Angeles Lakers. He's a native of California.
However, there will be other teams involved in the mix for George. As he goes through an important summer, ESPN will be along for the ride documenting the journey.
ESPN announced today they will be producing a three-part SportsCenter documentary series on George's offseason. The first part will air tomorrow during the 6 p.m. ET SportsCenter.
Here's more from ESPN:
As the series documents an important point in his career, the Los Angeles-area native will be shown speaking with trusted advisors and friends, including 12-time NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade.
Part 1 will examine George’s rise to NBA stardom while the second part, debuting June 28, will follow him during his off-court pursuits as he prepares to build on his career. Part 3, which will air after George’s NBA plans are made public, will give viewers a look at what’s next for George and how he arrived at his ultimate decision. All three parts will be approximately six minutes in length.
The fact George has signed off on this documentary makes one think he is choosing to leave Oklahoma City. Why go through all this just to stay put?
Either way, it will be interesting to see all that goes into his decision-making process.
