Paul George took to Instagram this afternoon to take a shot at his former franchise, the Indiana Pacers. The decision by the All-Star guard is a bit puzzling, to say the least.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star's reaction was sparked by the Indiana Pacers' decision to decline Lance Stephenson's contract option for the 2018-19 season.
It was reported earlier today that the Pacers were declining Stephenson's $4.3 million option for the 2018-19 season.
George recently took to Instagram to voice his opinion.
"Wow and I was the bad guy huh?! In this business you do what’s right for YOU!" George said, seemingly referencing the criticism of his decision to want out in Indiana a year ago.
The Pacers' decision to decline Stephenson's option seems to be based on the idea to have as much cap flexibility as possible this summer. George seems to be implying that players should never be criticizing for personal decisions (which is a fine one, I guess) because teams will do stuff like the Pacers did to Stephenson today.
It's odd, but this is yet another example of why the NBA offseason is so good. There's always something happening.
