Photos: Jordan Spieth, Girlfriend Announced Some Big News Earlier This Year

Jordan Spieth hasn't gotten quite as much hype as Tiger Woods during the British Open this week (as expected, naturally, considering how surprising well Woods has played) but he's the golfer who might be getting all of the attention by the end of the round.

The 24-year-old golfer, a three-time Major champion, is looking to add another championship to his trophy case. Spieth is tied for the lead at The Open heading into the final round.

Spieth is playing in the final group. He's set to tee off at about 9:45 a.m. E.T.

It's been a big year for Spieth, though he's had an up-and-down time during major play. He finished in third place at The Masters and then missed the cut at the U.S. Open.

Nothing is likely to top what Spieth announced earlier this year, though.

Spieth and his longtime girlfriend, Annie Verret, are engaged to be married. He spoke about how nervous he was before his proposal.

"I was probably most nervous at the British," Spieth explained to WBAP. "I was pretty confident this past winter. But yeah, it was a good offseason. … I forget how I felt the back nine of Chambers. British is still fresh, engagement is still fresh. I’ll probably at some point end up forgetting (nerves) at the British, but I won’t probably forget the engagement."

Spieth has shared some photos of himself and his now-fiancee on Instagram.

Spieth could be doing some more celebrating later today. He has a great chance to add Major championship No. 4 to his trophy case.

The final round is set to begin at 9:45 a.m. E.T. It will be televised on NBC.
