Over the weekend, star golfer Rickie Fowler took a break from the course and hit the beach with girlfriend Allison Stokke. Fowler locked down his best friend on "Naitonal Best Friend Day" with a ring.

Rickie is one of the favorites to win golf's second major. Fowler made a late charge on Sunday at the Masters, but just wasn't able to overcome a strong weekend from Patrick Reed.

Fowler had to settle for second there, but he's hoping to fair better this weekend. The 29-year-old golfer had a solid first round at the U.S. Open.

Fowler ended the day with a three-over 73. He stands just four strokes off the lead.

He's hoping to build on an incredible two weekends.

Fowler will take the course at Shinnecock Hills for his second round on Friday afternoon. He'll be paired with Hideki Matsuyama and Marc Leishman - the trio will tee off at 1:58 p.m. ET.
