Justin Rose hasn't been getting a ton of coverage today during the final round at the 2018 British Open, but that is about to change. The 37-year-old English native is heading into the clubhouse as the leader at the tournament.
Rose, whose best finish at The Open came in 1998 when he tied for fourth place, has finished his final round. He's heading into the clubhouse as the leader.
The prominent golfer followed up an incredible 7-under par round on Saturday with a 2-under par round on Sunday.
Rose is sitting at 6-under, which is the best score of any golfer who's finished.
Rose, a one-time major champion (the U.S. Open in 2013), could be on his way to adding major championship No. 2 depending on what happens the rest of the way. The course is playing tough on a lot of holes. It's possible that his 6-under par will be good enough for at least a playoff.
The golfer has been doing well off of the course, too. He's been married to his wife, Kate Rose, since 2006.
From The Sun:
Kate Phillips is a graduate from the University of Sussex and met Justin whilst an assistant at IMG. The pair began dating in 2000 and Kate became a mainstay at tournaments as Justin overcame a dismal start to his pro career.
Rose and his wife have two children.
We could be seeing Rose and his wife celebrating on the course later today. Stay tuned.
