Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Angels star pitcher/hitter, had to leave Tuesday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox early. He exited with an injury to his hand.
The 23-year-old star out of Japan left the game after the second inning. He had thrown 66 pitches and developed a bad blister on his hand.
Ohtani has been brilliant early in his MLB career, but Tuesday night was a rough step back. He doesn’t believe the blister developing on his hand to be serious, but it doesn’t look good.
Photos have surfaced of the star pitcher’s injury. They’re pretty graphic.

There might be two blisters developing, actually. It looks like they would’ve been caused from hitting.
