Predicting What The First College Football Playoff Rankings Of The 2018 Season Will Look Like Tuesday

Official College Football Playoff rankings.

The first version of the College Football Playoff rankings for the 2018 season comes out on Tuesday, so let's go ahead and project what we think we'll see - at least near the top.

Texas, which was poised to be in the top six or seven teams with a win over Oklahoma State, stumbled and suffered its second loss of the season. The Longhorns' national title hopes are probably out the door.

No. 15 Washington also lost a stunner - to Cal - ending any hope they had of sneaking in.

The top four teams will likely be Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and LSU. The Crimson Tide will take on the (LSU) Tigers this coming Saturday.

Here's what we think the top 10 will look like. Ohio State and Michigan, if they can stay with one loss each, will have a huge game in late November.

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. LSU
  5. Michigan
  6. Georgia
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Ohio State
  9. UCF
  10. Washington State

The first version of this year's rankings will come out Tuesday.
