Tiger Woods can add another honor to his resume in the wake of his 15th major championship win at The Masters on Sunday afternoon.

President Trump announced on Twitter this afternoon that he will be awarding Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

"Spoke to Tiger Woods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s Masters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!" he tweeted.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal are the two highest civilian awards in the country.

It's not uncommon for athletes to receive them, either.

Barack Obama awarded Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Willie Mays the Medal of Freedom during his presidency.

Last year, President Trump awarded them to Roger Staubach and Babe Ruth.

Woods has a relationship with President Trump, as the two have often played golf together, as recently as February.
