Rajon Rondo, one of the smartest players in the NBA, made what was probably the dumbest decision of the regular season to date in this evening's loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the San Antonio Spurs, 110-106, at the AT&T Center in Texas this evening.
The Lakers were trailing the Spurs by three points with about 15 seconds left. Los Angeles had the ball in LeBron James' hands, who passed it to a wide-open Rondo underneath the hoop for an easy layup.
For some reason, though, Rondo opted to not shoot the ball.
Check it out:
What was he thinking? Did he forget the score? Did he think there was less time left than there actually was? Did he think he could fool the defense into giving one of his teammates a wide-open look from 3?
We're not really sure.
The Lakers dropped to 2-4 on the season with the loss, while the Spurs improved to 3-2.
