Former Baylor head football coach Art Briles is reportedly close to landing a new job in coaching. This job is an overseas one.

The Hastings Tribune is reporting that Briles, who was fired in 2015 in the wake of a major sexual assault scandal within the Bears' program, has a deal in the works with a football team in Italy.

From the report:

Art Briles has never lived outside of Texas, and the former Baylor coach is, per sources, “very interested” in coaching an American football team in Italy.

Not Italy, Texas; Florence, Italy.

This would be the equivalent of a low level junior college.

Sources indicate a deal is in the works.

The locale known as the home to the statue of David, the Ponte Vecchio, Boboli Gardens and plenty of red wine also has a football team.

Briles also reportedly was in discussions with a local high school. He went 65-37 as Baylor's head coach, leading the Bears to four 10-plus win seasons.
