The University of Maryland has shocked the college football world this afternoon, announcing that head coach D.J. Durkin is being reinstated. He'll be on the sideline against Michigan State this weekend.

Durkin's reinstatement comes after multiple investigations into the death of Terrapins' player Jordan McNair and reports of a "toxic culture" within the program.

Almost everyone in the college football world appears to be stunned by this news.

Some Maryland football players appear to be surprised as well.

ESPN is reporting that some Maryland players walked out of the meeting with Durkin today.

Sources tell ESPN that several players walked out of the meeting with DJ Durkin in College Park.

Maryland and Michigan State are set to kick off at noon on Saturday. The Terps had been led by interim coach Matt Canada in Durkin's absence.
