Former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino, who was fired ahead of this past season, is apparently releasing a book this September. The book will cover both his time in the NBA and college basketball.

Pitino's final few years in college basketball were marred with scandal. Louisville's 2013 national title was taken away by the NCAA as a result of an alleged sex scandal brought to light in a book by self-proclaimed madame Katina Powell. But it was the FBI's investigation into college basketball recruiting and sneaker companies that ultimately led to Pitino's dismissal.

Pitino has been steadfast in his innocence since. This September, he apparently plans to tell all Via ESPN:

The former Louisville coach has a memoir coming in September that will "lay all his cards on the table," Diversion Books announced Monday.

"Pitino: My Story," co-written by Seth Kaufman, is coming out Sept. 4. The book will cover everything from his time coaching the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics to his triumphant and troubled career in the NCAA.

Pitino is one of the most successful college basketball coaches in history - with impressive runs at Providence, Kentucky and Louisville. He also coached both the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics in the NBA.

Pitino won two national titles - one with Kentucky in 1996 and one with Louisville in 2013 (now vacated.) He also reached the Final Four seven times.

The book is slated to be released on September 4.
