Former Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino wants to get back into coaching. The former Cardinals' coach was fired before the 2017 season as a result of the FBI's investigation into corruption within the sport.
Pitino has reportedly reached out to an NBA team, expressing interest in a potential opening.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that Pitino's representatives have reached out to the Milwaukee Bucks, which currently have an interim head coach in the wake of Jason Kidd's firing.
Interest on the NBA's side has yet to be confirmed, though.
One professional team actually has offered him a job, however. It's a New Zealand team.
The New Zealand Breakers in Australia’s National Basketball League have reportedly offered their head coaching job to Pitino.
It seems highly doubtful that Pitino would accept this, but you never know how desperate he is to get back into coaching. He's not likely to get a ton of offers.
