Robert Griffin III is back in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens announced Wednesday that they've signed the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Johnny Manziel isn't the only former Heisman Trophy winner attempting to make a comeback in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens announced Wednesday afternoon that they've signed Robert Griffin III. RG3 last played for the Cleveland Browns in 2016. He did not play in the NFL this past season.

Griffin was drafted by the Washington Redskins back in 2012. While he had an impressive rookie season, injuries limited his productivity the next few years. Eventually, he lost his starting job and was cut by the franchise.

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome announced the news in a press conference on Wednesday. Here's what he had to say.

"Okay, I want to begin with - late yesterday, we agreed to a one-year deal with Robert Griffin. He came in last week and worked out - had a real good workout. We were able to come to an agreement late yesterday. He will probably be here early next week to sign the deal."

It's been a positive year thus far for Griffin. Earlier in 2018, he got married to former Florida State athlete Grete Sadeiko.

Griffin took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate his signing with the Ravens. It's a one-year deal.

Griffin will presumably be a backup quarterback to starter Joe Flacco. It'll be interesting to see if he sees the field at any point this season.
