Video: Russell Westbrook Singing “Now I Do What I Want”

Russell Westbrook hasn’t spoken much publicly about Kevin Durant’s decision to leave Oklahoma City. The following video says a lot, though.

Westbrook posted the following video on Twitter today. It’s only 10 seconds long, but it speaks volumes about his mindset.

It’s pretty self-explanatory.

“Now I do what I want!” Westbrook repeatedly exclaims as Lil Uzi Vert’s “Do What I Want” plays on his stereo.

Durant and Westbrook haven’t spoken since the decision, outside of a text message KD sent his former teammate, letting him know he was leaving.

Here’s what Durant said about Westbrook at his introductory press conference.

“Nah, (Westbrook) wasn’t (a factor in him leaving),” Durant said. “I mean obviously (that alleged subplot is) coming out now (that) I’m gone, all these reports are going to come out. I can’t really control it, but I just made a decision based on where I wanted to go, man. It was as simple as that. We can think about all the reasons and the factors and what factored in, but it was simple. That’s where I wanted to play basketball.”

“No, not really,” Durant said on if they’ve spoken. “Not really. Not in depth. But I’m sure that will happen at some point.”

And here’s what Westbrook said about Durant in his press conference for his contract extension with the Thunder.

“I found out like ya’ll found out — on the cell phones, on social media. I was talking to Kevin early on in the process, but nothing after. Just a text message from him. That’s about it.”

“We’d been together eight years. you don’t just throw that away… we’ll talk, eventually.”

The first Thunder-Warriors game of the 2016-17 season is set for Nov. 3 at Golden State at 10:30 p.m. E.T.

It should be pretty, pretty good.
