Sean Newcomb was one out away from the best pitching performance of his career today, as the Atlanta Braves starter lasted 8.2 innings without giving up a hit against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Unfortunately, the no-hit bid ended one out too soon.

Things got worse after the game. Someone decided to search Newcomb's Twitter history, as everyone seems to do these days whenever anyone does anything of note, and found some not-so-good things.

Newcomb apologized for the tweets after the game. "This is something that obviously can’t be happening. I feel bad about it. I don’t mean to offend anybody. I definitely regret it," he told reporters.
