Serena Williams will not play in the Australian Open.

The Australian Open will be without at least one Williams sister this year as Serena Williams announced she will not defend her title from last year.

Williams posted a message on Snapchat, revealing that she's not quite ready to make a run at consecutive titles. She gave birth just a few months ago in September.

Here's her message.
