After transferring from Ole Miss to Michigan after his sophomore year, star quarterback Shea Patterson applied for a transfer waiver appeal in an attempt to be able to play immediately for the Wolverines. It doesn't look like his old school agrees with some of the characterizations he made of their program.

According to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, Patterson's lawyer, Thomas Mars, says that Ole Miss "formally objected" to Patterson's assessment of the conditions in the program. Ole Miss reportedly sent in the objection as part of a response delivered to the NCAA.

Why? According to Dodd, Ole Miss doesn't agree with how he portrayed his reasons for wanting to transfer. Ole Miss, if you remember, has been dealing with NCAA issues for a few years now.

Apparently, it could hurt Patterson's chances of being granted immediate eligibility.

The objection recently sent to the NCAA could impact Patterson's ongoing transfer waiver appeal as he is looking to immediately become eligible to play for Michigan in 2018. The objection is part of a response delivered to the NCAA last month, according to attorney Thomas Mars.

It looks like Ole Miss will not be supporting Patterson's waiver appeal.

Ole Miss had the option of advocating for Patterson to the NCAA, not supporting his appeal or remaining neutral. It appears the school is not supporting his attempt at a transfer waiver.

Patterson is one of the most electric quarterbacks in the country. In seven games last season, he threw for 2,259 yards and 17 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He tore his PCL in late October and missed his team's final five games.

If Patterson is ruled eligible, he could be a huge difference maker for a Michigan program that has struggled at the quarterback position in recent years. If not, he'll have to wait until 2019 to get the nod in Ann Arbor.
