Who's The Singer In The Nationwide Commercials During The Olympics?

Rachel Platten singing in a Nationwide commercial.

Who's the singer in the Nationwide commercial that's been airing during the 2016 Rio Olympics? It'd be pop star Rachel Platten. Why is she famous? You've probably heard at least a few of her songs on the radio.

Platten, who is 35 years old, was a breakout star this past year when her hit single "Fight Song" peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The tune has become somewhat of a theme song for anyone going through any kind of struggle.

She also scored another big hit - "Stand by You" - later on in 2015. She's definitely one of the rising stars in the industry.

What's she doing for Nationwide? The insurance giant has a campaign called "Songs for All Your Sides" - which features Platten and country music star Brad Paisley. Both commercials have been playing a great deal on NBC during the games.

Here's more about the campaign, via Nationwide:

As Nationwide has evolved from a company with services across more than a dozen brands to one unified brand today, the mission remains the same in helping members protect and grow what matters most to them – their families, properties, businesses and financial futures.

To demonstrate this, Nationwide is partnering with GRAMMY Award-winning country music superstar Brad Paisley; and Rachel Platten, multiplatinum pop artist best known for her hits “Fight Song” and “Stand by You.” The launch of the “Songs for All Your Sides” campaign will be delivered through a mix of genres in each musician’s own voice. Each musician’s song will authentically and uniquely deliver the “Nationwide is on your side” jingle and expand on it through their own creative interpretation to life’s many moments – big and small – speaking to everyone’s different sides. Together Nationwide, Paisley and Platten tell the story of one Nationwide.
