The 2018 NBA Draft has come and went, and Kawhi Leonard has remained a part of the San Antonio Spurs organization. That's not too surprising - a draft night trade was unlikely - but there were teams with high picks interested in making a move for him, so you never know what could happen.

San Antonio's general manager, R.C. Buford, met with reporters this evening following the draft. He was there to discuss the team's draft picks, but of course, he's going to be forced to answer about the status of Leonard.

Buford was honest. He said that Leonard and his family are an important aspect of the team's organization. Buford hopes the situation can get resolved.

"We'll explore all of our options," Buford said, "but the first one would be to do what we can to keep Kawhi a part of our group."

Michael C. Wright tweeted out a video of his full comments.

That's a good, honest answer from the Spurs' general manager. San Antonio clearly wants to do what it can to keep Leonard.

However, reports from ESPN suggest that Leonard has made it clear he wants to be moved, and preferably to Los Angeles. Many doubt this is a situation the Spurs will be able to resolve.

No organization has been more consistently successful than San Antonio, though. If anyone can figure out a situation like this, it's the Spurs.
