One of the top guards on the transfer market has announced his decision. It's a big one.

San Jose State transfer Ryan Welage, who averaged more than 18 points a game in 2017-18, is headed to the state of Ohio. He's committing to Xavier.

This is a massive addition for the Musketeers' program. Xavier is replacing head coach Chris Mack, who left for Louisville.

Xavier is now led by former assistant coach Travis Steele. Getting Welage to commit is a huge addition to his roster going forward.

Welage announced his decision moments ago.

Here's the full announcement from the star guard:

Welage, an Indiana native, is one of the best shooters in the country. He set a program record for career 3-pointers during his first season. The 6-foot-9 swingman is a very versatile player, too. Welage should be a very key contributor for Xavier moving forward.
