New England Patriots star wide receiver Josh Gordon took to Twitter this morning to announce that he's stepping away from football.

Gordon, who's dealt with multiple off-the-field issues over the years, is reportedly facing a suspension from the NFL.

The former Cleveland Browns' wide receiver was traded to New England earlier this season.

Gordon announced on Twitter that he's stepping away from football to focus on his mental health.

Gordon is reportedly facing an indefinite suspension from the league. "Josh Gordon is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy, per source. He announced today he’s stepping away to address his mental health," NFL Network reports.

Gordon has 41 catches for 737 yards and 4 touchdowns so far this season.
