Steph Curry Is Going To Play Another Sport This Summer, Professionally

The basketball star is going to play some golf this summer.

Steph Curry is going to play another sport professionally this summer.

The two-time NBA MVP is going to play in a Web.com tournament in early August.

Curry, an avid golfer who says he's thought about playing full-time after basketball, will be competing as an amateur in the tournament. He's able to play on "an unrestricted sponsor exemption."

"Golf has always been a passion of mine," he said in a statement. "It's a dream come true to get the chance to play inside the ropes amongst the pros in a PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament."

Curry is listed as a 2-handicap according to GHIN.com. His recent scores during rounds are in the mid-to-high 70s and low 80s. Some pro golfers aren't too happy with his invitation to the tournament, though, claiming he's taking someone else's spot. Curry took to Twitter to address this.

This is going to be a lot of fun and anyone who has a problem with it needs to calm down.
