As fast as it began, it was over.
The “most-exciting” two minutes in sports just went down for the 144th time. Albeit in wet conditions, one horse proved to be too much for his competitors, winning the Kentucky Derby by several horse lengths.
Justify, the favorite entering the race, got out of the gates early and never looked back, going wire-to-wire en route to the win.

Over 150,000 people showed up to Churchill Downs to watch the running of the race.
Justify broke a 136-year curse dating back to 1882 during his win. He became the first horse since Apollo in 1882 to win the Kentucky Derby after going unraced as a two-year-old.
