Few (if any) NFL games are going to be able to top the ending we just had in this afternoon's Chicago Bears-New England Patriots game.

The Bears, trailing by 7 points with the final seconds ticking off the clock, threw up a Hail Mary! pass from their own 45-yard line.

Chicago's quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, wasn't able to get the ball all the way into the end zone, but . Bears wide receiver Kevin White was able to come up with it inside the Patriots' 5-yard line.

White, though, was not able to make it into the end zone for the game-tying score. A bunch of Patriots' defenders stopped him right before the goal line. It was one of the craziest finishes to an NFL game we've seen in recent seasons.

The Patriots won, 38-31.

Here's the play:

Losses really don't get any more heartbreaking than that (and wins probably don't get any more nerve-wracking than that, either).

The Patriots improved to 5-2 with the win, while the Bears dropped to 3-3.
