The College Football Fan Who Went Viral Today Has Been Identified

A shirtless Florida State fans reads a book at the end of the Clemson loss.

Florida State doesn't have a lot to take away from today's blowout loss to Clemson, as the Seminoles' 59-10 defeat is the worst in the history of Doak Campbell Stadium, but the program does have this:

No college football fan was talked about more on social media than one taking in today's Florida State-Clemson game.

The fan, appearing to root for Florida State, had enough of the game and started to read a book - with no shirt on.

The fan has been identified. It turns out that this shirtless fellow is actually a Florida State professor who just wanted to get some sun and read his Gillian Flynn book. "I ran up Doak Campbell's steps to talk to the shirtless guy with a book. Turns out he's FSU professor Bruce Thyer. He just wanted to get some sun and read," The Athletic's Tashan Reed tweeted.
