Here's the latest on the status of the Patriots' quarterback's hand.

We're a couple of hours away from kickoff at the AFC Championship Game. Here's the latest on the status of the injury to Tom Brady's hand.

Brady, who suffered a hand injury at practice earlier this week, has been listed as "questionable" to play in this afternoon's game. Unsurprisingly, though, Brady will be starting against Jacksonville.

The injury reportedly occurred when Brady's thumb collided with the helmet of a New England running back. That tailback is believed to be Rex Burkhead.

Brady's thumb area was reportedly cut pretty badly. Blood was "gushing" out of the area according to some and he did need stitches.

The five-time Super Bowl champion has been recovering well since. He's been wearing a glove at times at practice and has been throwing well.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that Brady hopes to be able to play this afternoon without his glove. However, that decision likely comes down to the weather.

"One source said if it's warm enough, Brady will ditch the glove. Cold weather, perhaps in the 30s, may necessitate a glove on his throwing hand," he says.

Brady has played in six AFC Championship Games in a row. Today's will be his seventh straight.

The Patriots are the big favorite in this one, though the line has dropped a little due to speculation surrounding Brady's hand. New England, which was once a 9 or 10-point favorite, is down to 7.5.

Kickoff is set for 3:05 p.m. E.T. The game will be on CBS.
