The Sixers, Joel Embiid Have Agreed To A Huge Extension

A huge extension for Philadelphia's promising young center.

Joel Embiid has played in 31 NBA regular season games.

And the 23-year-old big man is about to become one of the highest-paid players in the league.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Embiid and the Sixers have agreed to a five-year, $148 million extension.

Embiid is one of the most-talented young players in the league, but this is a pretty huge bet on a guy who's yet to prove he can stay healthy for even half of a season.

When he was healthy last year, he was great, averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
