Jamie Horowitz's departure from FOX Sports appears to be being celebrated.
Jamie Horowitz is out at FOX Sports, according to an internal memo leaked to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal. The sports media industry appears to be celebrating.
Horowitz joined FOX Sports in May of 2015. He's been responsible for the network's signings of former ESPNers like Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock and Chris Broussard. Recently, he's been in the news for being the brains behind the network's decision to ditch written content online for a video-only strategy.
Some of his former writers are making it known that they're happy about Horowitz's ousting.
Others in the industry appear to be sharing those sentiments.
It's unclear what exactly led to Horowitz's departure. We'll keep you updated.
