The United States Just Stunned Canada In Men's Curling

United States curlers in action.

The last several hours or so have been pretty good for the United States against our neighbors to the north.

In case you missed it while your were sleeping, the United States women's hockey team beat Canada in thrilling fashion to capture its first Olympic gold medal since the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

If that wasn't enough, the Americans just came through the ice again, topping Canada in the men's curling semifinals. This is no doubt the more stunning win, as the Canadians are the three-time defending Olympic champions.

With the win, the U.S. advances to face Sweden for the gold medal.

Putting this win in more perspective, the United States hasn't made the medal podium in men's curling since the 2006 Olympics in Turin. This isn't quite the "Miracle on Ice" but it's pretty big. We recommend you click here and watch John Shuster's winning shot in slow-motion. It is mesmerizing.

Hats off to Shuster and the men's curling squad. They made history.

Now bring home the gold, boys.
