There Is Basically No One At The 1st Big Ten Tournament Game

Empty seats at Madison Square Garden.

The 2018 Big Ten Tournament is underway. It started at 5:30 p.m. E.T. on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

That's just weird. And it's dumb.

The Big Ten moved up its conference tournament a week early so it could be played in New York City. The league wanted to play at Madison Square Garden, which is hosting another tournament next week.

Illinois and Iowa have tipped things off. The crowd at MSG is...sparse.

Tickets for the game are really cheap, at least. You can get in the door for only a couple of bucks.

We're not going to be seeing too many crowd shots. The BTN isn't dumb.

This is what the crowd looked like right before tipoff. It's not much of a "crowd."

There are two Big Ten Tournament games tonight. Illinois and Iowa are playing right now, with Rutgers and Minnesota playing later tonight.

The game tonight should be better attended. Hopefully.

Both games are on BTN.
