The Oklahoma City Thunder are still exploring moving Carmelo Anthony in a salary dump. If they can't deal him, they'll have to stretch his salary out and waive him.

If Carmelo gets to free agency, several teams have been named as interested parties, including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat. The trade market for him is slimmer because of financial reasons.

One team that could be a willing partner is the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks just acquired Jeremy Lin from the Brooklyn Nets, so that means point guard Dennis Schroder is expendable.

According to multiple reports, the two teams have discussed a deal. The Thunder apparently want Schroder and big man Mike Muscala, with Atlanta looking for an asset in addition to Anthony.

Once Atlanta absorbed Melo into its cap space, he'd likely be bought out.

Right now, this potential deal is just a rumor. The two teams seemingly haven't progressed beyond the talking stage.

We will keep you posted if things change.
