Tiger Woods may not be in contention after three days at the Masters. However, he made one longtime fan's trip to Augusta one for the ages. Shane Caldwell, a South Carolina native battling Stage 4 lung cancer, dreamed of meeting his favorite golfer. Thanks to his stepdaughter Jordan Miller, he did just that.

On Thursday, at the practice driving range at Augusta National, Caldwell was able to meet Woods. The legendary golfer greeted the fan ahead of his first round of the Masters Tournament. He even autographed a glove for Caldwell. All-in-all, it was a very cool moment.

Miller's efforts to arrange the meeting started on Facebook back on March 31. She posted a long message, tagging Woods and a number of the companies he endorses, explaining her stepfather's situation.

From her post to Tiger Woods:

This is my step dad, Shane. The pictures below show what appears to be a happy, healthy-looking man. Unfortunately, those pictures are only a glimpse at the harsh reality he faces each day. The reality is that he’s a two-time colon cancer survivor who is now battling an unrelated enemy, stage 4 lung cancer.

Throughout the progression of his disease over the last 20 months, the most frequently asked question he has for his doctors is “when can I play golf again?”

Shane has every reason to be selfish, to focus on himself and pursuing his dreams. But this isn’t just any man. He will focus on the well-being of every other person in the room before stopping to think about his own needs. He is truly a selfless and loving father, grandfather, and husband.

So, Facebook, I’m going to be greedy for him and ask for your help. His 2 biggest dreams are to go to the Master’s and to meet Tiger Woods, who he has followed throughout his entire career. We’ve been very blessed in that someone donated their tickets so that he is able to attend the first day of the tournament, this coming Thursday (April 5). As it so happens, Tiger Woods will be playing in that tournament.

My hope is that if we get enough attention from the right people, we may be able to surprise Shane with the opportunity to meet the golfer he idolizes. There aren’t enough words in the world to describe what it would mean to him or our family to make his dream come true.

Miller also took to Twitter. Her post has over 10,000 retweets.

The posts worked. On Thursday, Caldwell met Tiger Woods at the driving range.

Caldwell and his wife Renay spoke about the meeting after it occurred. Both were extremely grateful. From WISTV:

“Let’s you know that Tiger is not as standoffish as he maybe would have been or used to be," Shane said. "He’s a nicer person than according to the media.”

“We’re incredibly humbled and incredibly grateful," Renay said. "This is a dream come true for him.”

Congratulations to Shane Caldwell, and Jordan Miller for making this Tiger Woods meet-up happen. This was a truly awesome moment.
