Tiger Woods did not get off to the best of starts at the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive in St. Louis, but the 14-time major champion finished his opening round in strong fashion.

Woods, 42, had a couple of bogies during his front nine, struggling to find the fairway and the green in regulation, but he bounced back on his back nine.

The final first round score: Even par.

Woods will take that after struggling to open his round. He started to find the fairway with more consistency on the back nine.

Tiger Woods fans are happy.

"It’s a two-putt par on the last for an absolutely amazing even-par round of 70. Just incredible," Tiger Tracker tweeted.

"I mean, come on…Tiger was 3 over after 2 holes and shoots 70 to tie with Rory, only one shot behind JT (69). Just incredible. A lot of heart and guts there."

Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are set to tee off Round 2 on Friday afternoon.
