Tiger Woods played in his first major golf tournament in years last week. The 42-year-old golfer played in The Masters. He finished 1-over par in a somewhat disappointing showing.

What's next for Woods? Well, he's definitely going to be playing in the season's next major. Woods has committed to playing in the U.S. Open.

The U.S. Open announced on Twitter today that Woods has officially committed to playing in the tournament, which is set to be held in New York in mid-June.

This is not surprising, as Woods is healthy and intends on playing a lot this year, but still, it's exciting that it's official. Major golf is just better with Woods in it.

Here's the full announcement from the U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods has committed to playing in the U.S. Open in New York in mid-June.

Woods last played in the U.S. Open in 2015. He missed the cut.

While Woods did not contend at The Masters, he's still one of the betting favorites for the U.S. Open. Expectations for Woods' performance in New York will likely depend on what happens between now and then. He'll likely play in at least a couple of tournaments before teeing off at the U.S. Open.
